    Wikimapia.org, great tool :)

I was recently looking for a route to a specific building in the metro, using wikimapia.org, I found one easily.

Great help for a lot of people.

What I didn't like about the freedom on "adding and making palces" was that a lot of people were adding irrelevant details on the map.

    "ang trapik dito sa pilipinas"
    "Billiard time ko"
    "IPC Boyz... OJT"
    "pasugalan ni beteng adik"
    "istorya ni ronald part2"
"Putang ina Shet trapik late nanaman ako"
"Putang ina mu Supan mamatay ka na mukha kang T*TE!!! "

    I hate them huhuhu

First Volunteer activity in Pangarap Shelter for boys :)

A long overdue blog entry for me, :)

Had my first volunteer activity last August 4 :)  it was a refreshing and warm experience for me.  Even though I was used to talking in front / to people and giving out trainings, this really came to me as a challenge.

My friend and I arrived in the shelter (Pangarap Shelter for Boys) 10 minutes early :)  worried pa nga kami dahil nung una akala namin late na kami, but then we thought mababait naman siguro ung mga tao dun (them being volunteers and all)

People were friendly looking, had smiles to give out. tama nga kami, mababait nga sila.

Before we were given a child each, we were given notes and guides on how to interact to them.  Stuff like do not give them individual gifts, give them stuff in groups so others won't get jelous.  And other points on how things were done.

Each child had their own record, updated by the tutor of the session.  Mostly were listed down with the progress of the child, and the book used on the previous lesson.  Malas ako since walang nakalagay na book used dun sa record ni Macky (the kid I got).   So the first thing I did was give him loads of problems si I can determine where he was, strenghts ang weakness in math and reading/writing.  He was grade 4, though his level on different subjects were diff, reading and writing were at grade 1 i think.  So there was much work.

Interacting with a very different audience was really a challenge.  I really have so much stuff to improve on, iwasan ko specially ang spoon feeding in my teaching style.  Now for the next volunteer day :)

Will be writing about the progress. :)
